Participants will view the film, The Mask You Live In, prior to discussion if possible.  To view the film any time at your leisure, visit: Screen The Mask You Live In (a valid IVC/Saddleback login is required).

The film follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity.  Research shows that compared to girls, boys in the U.S. are more likely to be diagnosed with a behavior disorder, prescribed stimulant medications, fail out of school, binge drink, commit a violent crime, and/or take their own lives (http://therepresentationproject.org/). Join Dr. Miatta R. Snetter, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Robert Melendez, IVC Counseling Department Chair, for a discussion regarding the information presented in the film.

This is an online event conducted via Zoom. Any questions, please contact ivccounseling@ivc.edu.
